So, the following happened, again as in several times over the years, yesterday Friday December 26th, 2025. The neighborhood USPS Mail Carrier does get out of his mail truck, go to my front door, ring my door bell or knock on my door. Instead he immediately fills out “Sorry we missed you…” notice, falsely reporting “No Authorized Recipient Available”!
I was eagerly awaiting an online purchase and was home at the time mail carrier stopped at my mailbox. Now instead I had to reschedule, and use my valuable time to call USPS and report the incident! As I have a dual security camera in my driveway, it fortunately recorded the whole thing. Mail carrier arriving around 1:23pm on 12/26/2025, does not exit his truck, and drives off a minute and a half later.
Over the years I have filled multiple complaints about this same mail carrier, who refuses to get out of his mail truck to deliver a package that needs signature! Having spoken to his supervisors, he has argued that it’s because I have dogs! Yes it is true I have dogs, and so do half the people living in my neighborhood! Question is if that means he does the same to everybody else, or just me?
Keep the following mind;
1) My dogs never run loose by themselves on my property! Sure they’re in the front yard with me several times a day, but if a carrier or anyone else unknown, stops by my house with intention to deliver something, I immediately let my friendly dogs inside, out of the way!
2) I am the one opening the door if someone rings my door bell or knocks on my door, not any of my dogs!
3) If anyone does ring my door bell or knocks on my door, my dogs will be contained, and only I will open the door!
Acceptable Mail Carrier Behavior?
I don’t think this particular mail carrier is doing his job as he’s supposed to. I have nothing against delivery workers in general, but I do think this particular mail carrier is giving others a bad reputation! I have previously reported, and will continue to report any delivery carrier that fails to do their job properly!
What do you think? Feel free to comment.
Update 12/28/2025
Yesterday Saturday same USPS mail carrier came out to my address twice, both times staying in his truck instead of going about 50 feet to my front door and ring my door bell.
First time around noon, he left a hand written note on business card size paper saying; “Sign the Back And I will del Your Box”!

When I noticed this I immediately called USPS and reported the carrier.
Second time was around 3pm where he again stayed in his truck, this time filling a second “Sorry we missed you…”.
Note that no tracking updates was updated for Saturday’s events!
On Sunday morning at 10:42am I got a call from the supervisor at post office handling my neighborhood’s mail. He apologized for the issue, and said although all his carriers were out today, there out on route today, I should get my package by tomorrow. I explained to him that I did not want to leave a signed “Sorry we missed you…”, because I did not want the package to be left at the street in my mailbox due to high value item.
Update 12/29/2025
My package finally got delivered Monday afternoon at 3:51pm, by a USPS mail carrier I had not seen before. He came out of his truck, and to my front door so I could sign the delivery. Note before this happened, there had still not been any tracking updates online since Friday afternoon, were it said “Redelivery scheduled for 12/27/2025”.
