Pros
- Very nice looking
- Good size and solid weight pieces
- Storage box doubles as the board
Cons
- A bit of a struggle to get the pieces out of the hard foam insert.
- Box hinges are in the way, and degrade the otherwise nice look, when pieces are set up.

Conclusion
I do like this chess set a lot, and it looks and feels very nice. Priced at $49.99, at time of review, is reasonable. There’re really only two things that could have, in my opinion, made it better. Firstly, there’s a struggle to pry out the pieces from the hard foam insert. I do understand it may loosen up over time, but will the pieces then eventually rattle around? I can’t help to think there may have been a better option to secure the pieces inside the box for storage and more importantly travel. Perhaps looser inserts with some kind of hard cover with Velcro straps? Secondly the box hinges are kind of in the way and an eye sore when the board and pieces are set up, on display or and being played.
